Re: Question for bikers...........
Damn.....If I was one of those guys that rode a harley and waxed it every tuesday and sunday I could help you out.
I ride a honda and it don't get waxed often. I like to ride more than polish.
Soberbykr has a SWEET harley that shines like hell. He'll know what to do.

Re: Question for bikers...........
I dont wax my bikes (hondas also) too much but for my cars, to clear off all old wax, i use dawn dishwashing soap then i apply Zaino (http://www.zainostore.com/) which doesnt build up like wax. I only use Dawn once to clear anything the previous owner/dealer may have applied then its strictly zaino product.
from the zaino website
Q: Ok, I just received my Zaino products. What should I do to my paint before applying my Zaino?
A: The first thing you should do is wash your vehicle thoroughly with Dawn (or comparable) dish soap to remove any wax, grease, and oil from your paint. Then, my recommendation is to use Z-18 ClayBar to remove any bonded surface contaminants such as rail dust, tree sap, bug marks, or hard water deposits from the paint before applying any of your Zaino products.Using Clay is optional, but it really does make a difference!!
hope that helps

Re: Question for bikers...........
I ride/rode a sportbike not a cruiser, but the same rules apply
Be careful with that wax/detailing products. It gets on your tires and you won't like the result. I know I didn't

Re: Question for bikers...........
I ride sportbikes, but like they said before, the same rules apply. Nothing strips wax like dishwashing detergent. Use Dawn or Palmolive to strip the wax offf, then make sure that you apply a good base coat, and then a follow up coat of decent wax. I use the same Meguiars that I use on my cars.

My Yamaha gets the same wash used on it as my car does. Turtle wax car wash.
Never an issue, always a shine.
