Default S&W 629 Classic OR Colt Anaconda

I decided to add a .44 Magnum revolver to my collection in a few months and have settled on
    one of these two.

Can anyone speak to the pro's and cons of each as they relate to each other?

If you want to suggest a revolver thats not one of these two, please dont.
Likewise, if you want to ask me why I want a .44 Magnum when I could
have a blah-d-blah, please keep that to yourself as well

No offense, but these are the two I am considering, and I would appreciate it
if we could limit discussion to just these two.

I'm leaning toward the Colt, frankly because its more aesthetically pleasing.
In other words, it looks more badass
    I've fired both.

What I'm looking for are things like accuracy, maintenance, wear and tear,
    reliability, etc.

    Thanks!

I have fired approx. 5-600 rounds from the 629 with assistance of a leupold glimmore and can't say enough about it. I feel that it is accurate enough for deer hunting to 75/80 yards with the proper rest. A paper plate the size of vitals around 90% of the time at that distance.

Sorry, but I have no experience with the Colt to add.

Considerable weight difference between the two that might help your decision?

I vote for the Anaconda! I don't have any experience with the S&W, but I do have a 1994 Anaconda myself and I love it. The Colt will also continue to appreciate in value!

    I couldn't really tell a difference. The S&W I fired had a 6 1/2" barrel, and the Colt had a 6"

If there is a weight difference, it cant be more than a few ounces cuz I didn't notice one.

I'd vote Colt. The triggers have typically been nicer, IMO...and it'll be worth a lot more down the road.

I have both. And while the Smith is very nice the annaconda is even sweeter, if not harder to find.

the trigger on my anaconda is down right scary. the nicest factory trigger i have ever experienced. the operation in double action is smooth like a babies ass and then we have the colt factor. anaconda baby.

harry? harry who? throw that guy some soap.

I want a 629 Classic DX with a six inch barrel

All the 629s used to be factory test fired..The ones that showed the most accuracy were sent to the custom shop for more "enhancements". Thus, the DX suffix was added..

I read a magazine article years ago that had one of these..If I can remember, the trigger and the accuracy was AWESOME...
