Motorcycles and carrying
Just wondering how many different ways everyone carries while on two wheels. As well as possible ways to secure a sidearm on a motorcycle. I don't intend to have to but am wondering, because while staring at my bike today i got to thinking about it. I just picked up a vulcan 800 and well there are no gun friendly compartments on it. I do have saddle bags but they are soft bags with no locks. couple of quick clip buckles and they pop right open. any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Motorcycles and carrying
Depends on what you plan on carrying. I can carry my LCP in the front pocket of my jeans, or put it right in a jacket pocket, other than a small gun, i'd say a good holster that has a good form of retention on it, but i haven't tried mine on my bike yet, the back part of the seat may not allow for it where i wear my holster(4:00-4:30)

Re: Motorcycles and carrying
Exactly! I have a Joe Rocket jacket that allows me to add/remove the liner but I always wear it when riding so a shoulder holster is a great option. I want to carry my CZ82 most times but when fishing, I will carry my 357 Mag so I got a shoulder holster setup that allows me to connect different holsters. The smaller firearm will be more lateral and the larger revolver is more of a vertical position.

Re: Motorcycles and carrying
I will be carrying my glock 20 or maybe my m&p 9mm. I had considered a good shoulder rig, I currently have my pancake with retention strap. Wanting it to be completely concealed on the bike as much as possible. Guess my main concern is when i'm riding the last thing i want to deal with is being stopped just because i have a gun, wanting to avoid the whole biker + gun = bad man stereotype. I don't mind have discussions any other time no matter what i am doing, but when i sling my leg over my bike, I do it to ride not bs with people. Anyone have any suggestions for securing a sidearm on a motorcycle?

Re: Motorcycles and carrying
I normally wear a leather vest. My most recent one was designed for concealed carry. It has two large inside pockets just for that purpose. But I didn't like how hard it was to get to the gun. So a made an inside pocket that places the gun over my left chest. Sewed the pocket into the vest and added a plastic zipper to add to the security of retention. Ends up being near where a shoulder holster would place the gun, maybe a little forward. And with the zipper closed it becomes invisible, even if the vest blows open. And I don't have to worry about the fit of a shoulder holster or the gun moving backwards. I can even take the vest off without anyone having a clue that I'm carrying.

Renegade Classics sell a black leather vest with Kevlar lined pockets made for smaller pistols. My glock 27 fits in it very nicely.

Re: Motorcycles and carrying
I carry my P3at the same I would otherwise. Pocket or inside the pants holster. Although I dont like to use it, there happens to be a small locking compartment on my Honda that fits my keltec perfectly

Re: Motorcycles and carrying
As many have alrady mentioned, I leather vest with a gun pocket, or many good leather jackets have gun pockets in them. I the summer heat I wear an ankle holster just above my riding boots. I carry a Walther PPK/s, so it's very simple to toss it various places..
