Why doesn't someone invent?

A shotgun mag extension with a light built in the end? You would have to give up maybe one shell capacity, but it would keep the light out of the way and protected. Not hanging off the bottom or sticking out the side where it can snag on something. I've never seen it done like that but it seems like a good idea.

Go do it!!! It sounds like a great idea to me.. Wouldn't work for Mossy though. I'm positive it can be done!

Sure it could! You just replace the nut on the end with a nut that it built into a hollow chamber that would house the batteries and flashlight - it wouldn't be a mag extension but it would work...hmmm!

The only problem I see is that I think the barrel will affect the quality of the light beam. not sure but I bet it will. take the light out one night and hold it under the barrel and test it.

Im going one better.


Im working up shotgun slugs with each round having its own built in light. The light is activated when the round is chambered and stays on for 10-15min whether the round is fired or not.


Im also thinking of adding a taillight to act as a tracer.

So what's stoppping you? If you're waiting on someone else to invent your idea, one of two things will happen; A. noone will, or B; someone will, and they'll make a fortune and you'll be there with your hammer in your hand saying "why didn't I do that?".....Good luck buddy!

Put the idea into a design, then apply for a patent. Don't waste one minute. The proof that you came up with the idea is documented right here on this thread.
