Guthsville or Eaton club?
Hello all,
I've been looking at joining a local gun club for awhile now. I've narrowed it down to either Guthsville or Easton since they have more realistic rules (fire rate, etc) that I'm used to as a military personnel. I'm located in the Norristown area so both are a hour'ish drive but thats fine with me.
So with that said, which one would you choose?
My prefs are...
-Not very busy on weekdays
-Ability to shoot a "black rifle" without being treated like an outcast
-Possibly the ability to "tactically" fire (I'm not saying I want to reenact Rambo movies, but the option to train for real world scenarios) in addition to bench shooting.
-And to be part of a club of like minded individuals, aka not liberal treehuggers, and learn a thing or two.
Thanks in advance guys!

Re: Guthsville or Eaton club?
From April to November, on the first Sunday of the month at 10 AM there is a Tactical Carbine shoot at Easton Fish and Game.
The tactical carbine group at the club is run by Paul Sadowski, who is an officer of the club and owner of PS Arms a class III and NFA dealer.
I would recommend joining Easton Fish and Game.

Re: Guthsville or Eaton club?
I belong to Guthsville. Went up during the week a few weeks back and I was the only person there the whole time. Nice weekends can get a little busy but nothing outrageous or annoying imo.

Re: Guthsville or Eaton club?
Well I joined Guthsville and I love it so far. My two visits were during my days off, which fall on weekdays, and i saw maybe three or four people the entire time.
I was debating bring my friend up to shoot tomorrow, I managed to get a Sunday off which is rare for me, and I was wondering if the range would be packed on a Sunday. Any help on this?
Also, does anyone know what time they open up on Sundays?Last edited by monco123; February 27th, 2010 at 04:33 PM.

Guthsville has events scheduled for many of the 1st & 2nd Sundays each month. The link below shows the calendar and range restrictions during events.

It's on the honor system and theres a little form you fill out and just drop the money in a slot but I'm blanking on where it is at the moment. I know it's near where you sign in.
If it's busy when you go I'm sure you wouldn't have any trouble finding someone that could direct it to you.
Also from what I've been told you only have to pay for a guest pass if your friend is shooting (which I assume he would be). If he's just observing it's free and you don't need to get him a guest pass.I am not a lawyer and nothing I say should be construed as legal advice.

Re: Guthsville or Eaton club?
Thanks for the information, I'll check it out. I'm guessing it's by the glass window porch to the right of the indoor range because I looked around the sign-in shack and didn't see anything.
Seems like the weather won't be the best tomorrow so I might luck out.
Hate to bother you again but does Sunday have a different opening time other then the normal 8am?
