Used NIB Winchester M70

Picked this up at GRoPA's tonight.

Post '64 Model 70 Winchester in .223 Remington. Probably mid 80's vintage.

Still has the hang tag and "walnut" label affixed to the stock.

I was confused by the NIB but used thing. But I actually figured it out. Duhhhh.

it must be one of those: the guy bought it and the wife made him take it back. hence it is used. used guns go on sale cheaper.

i got a few pieces that way.

This's odd, I just got the "used" NIB Winchester M70 too, but mine was FeatherWeight SS pre 64 in 243Win, the price was unbelievable and event though I ask her several time about the price just to be sure I heard it right and held the rifle in my hands to make sure it's a real rifle, I still did not believe that was what she wanted, I double up the price for her anyway, she said I'm too generous!.

Are you sure about the pre 64 status? I didn't think they made them in SS prior to 64. It has the external mauser claw extractor and not a spring loaded extractor inset into the bolt head.
