Eastern PA source for AR lowers?
I just got my first AR15 and in researching it, I have found lots of info on building them too. For some reason, building my own appeals to me. I would rather buy a lower from a PA FFL dealer. Otherwise I am looking for a FFL holder that can accept a reciever (or two, they're cheap!) and transfer them to me. I am between Easton and Stroudsburg.
Thanks, Dave

I would just find every gun shop in the area that you are willing to drive and call them up and ask them if they have any AR15 lowers. That's what I did. It wasn't very easy for me and I was about to give up and have one special ordered. I finally found one at Enck's Gun Barn in Newmanstown, however, I think that is a little far from where you are.

Re: Eastern PA source for AR lowers?
I'll be darned if I can remember who, or the name of the shop, but there was someone who joined not too long ago who has a shop on 209 SE of 33. Now if I can only get my brain to function again...
ETA: I must have had really fat fingers last night, the shop that I was talking about is on 209 SW of 33... sorryLast edited by billamj; November 15th, 2006 at 10:06 AM.

Re: Eastern PA source for AR lowers?
Any FFL dealer can get receive the AR lowers...I'd advise to shop around because they tend to charge different transfer fees. I've paid from $10-20...I've seen it as high as $70 to transfer, so shop around...because most shops will also charge you per lower.
To be honest...it's not difficult to build on a strip lower, but why not save the time and just buy the complete lower? The DIY aspect might be appealing, but it's not a big deal....you won't be saving any money doing it yourself...just get to learn about the rifle parts.

Re: Eastern PA source for AR lowers?
Even a complete lower will have to be transferred...... the closest shop to me charges $50 per transfer.
