Not likely, unless 922 is abolished.

Nothing appears to be doable with it to make it "sporting" enough to get thru the ATF. Same thing with the FAMAS, and that which bit the AUG in the butt.

To be blunt, I'm amazed to see the FN PS90 and 2000; if one were a hard-ass ATF - how could such guns be around, when compared to say, a 10rd SAIGA, WASR, or Yugo PAP "sporting rifles"?

Of course the SA-80 folks could do the AUG thing and start to build it here so as to get it domesticated enough to allow civvie sales.

Or... they can build versions as .22LR models to get past 922 - which makes incredible sense given how well the GSG was recvd by the public and how the Sig522 is so highly anticipated.

Or... they can really eff-up the SA-80 (or FAMAS) and stuff them into walnut thumbhole stocks covering the recvr, limited mag wells, long "slick barrels", etc, to make them "sporty".

    Whatever.

I thought may be they'll do what they do with AK - parts kit with US manufactured reciever or something like that

Well, if ATI makes SA-80 in 22lr in place of now won't be available for long GSG-5, I'd buy it...

Along with STG44 in 22lr if they ever do it(people from ATI, u reading this?)
