Re: PAFOA/PMCS Group Shoot #53
I love these shoots!!! I also have seen for years now how big of a toll they take on the members who run and operate them. I have always appreciated them and all of the great people that I have met through them. I have a feeling that they won't be gone for long, but they may need a break.
I can say that I am not an RSO, but I am a club member and would be willing to help in the future. I have my own personal issues currently though which have kept me from being able to attend the recent ones.
To everyone who kept these running for so long... I thank you and you have brought a lot of happiness to shooters all over PA. To all the shooters that I've met over the years... I thank you and hope to keep the friendships going!

Re: PAFOA/PMCS Group Shoot #53
Kind of thought I read Hawk saying there is nothing stopping some PMSC members from showing up Sunday morning on the 14th and shooting. And that we could still sign in guests. Without a RO if none are available.
Did I read wrong?"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Re: PAFOA/PMCS Group Shoot #53
As long as club rules are followed, I don't see a problem with a group of PMSC members showing up and signing in a guest.
I am not a member so I don't know all the ins and outs but this seems reasonable.
Are Ro's required when anyone shows up to shoot with a non-member? If not, why should showing up with a guest be any different even if it is several members with several guest at the same time?

Re: PAFOA/PMCS Group Shoot #53
That's correct.
I'm not a officer of the club, so take what I have to say as just a fellow member who has a decent handle on PMSC rules.
If a bunch of PMSC members wanted to shoot together, there are no rules saying they can't. Every Sunday a bunch of us (6-10) PMSC members do just that on the rifle range. As I said before, this is how it was when EM started the whole thing.
For non-membersGuest policy)
A single member can sign in a single guest at the gate and pay the $5 guest fee. Just remember if you sign someone in as a guest you are responsible to watch over them at all times while they are on the grounds.
The guest rules were modified just for the PAFOA shoots. The one to one rule for guests was eliminated and was replaced with dedicated RO's to watch over the shoot and the guests.Toujours prêt

Re: PAFOA/PMCS Group Shoot #53
Note: I just rechecked the guest rules. Officially, a non-member can be a guest 3 times. After that they must join if they want to continue to enjoy the facilities. I now recall this was another rule that was modified just for the PAFOA shoots.
There is one more option. We hold "open to the public" shoots every week/month that any non-member can attend as many times as they wish.
Here are 3:
Trap - Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons
CMP - 1st Sunday of the month - rifle range.
Pistol IPSC - Every Thursday EveningToujours prêt

Re: PAFOA/PMCS Group Shoot #53
Alright... since time is short and I have no idea how to get an "open to the public" shoot organized... but I AM a PMSC member... I will be at the main bay Sunday morning of the 14th with doughnuts and orange juice. Does any non-PMSC member want to attend with me as a guest? I also encourage any PMSC members to show up with a guest.
I am not an RO so if there are any ROs that feel like attending Sunday with no expectations at all that would be great. If you actually feel like RO-ing (rowing?) on Sunday then that would also be great.
It would be really cool if someone who knows how to open the shed would let me know so we can use the target stands and steel. If not then I will bring some paper targets to staple to the backers."I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Re: PAFOA/PMCS Group Shoot #53
I think you misunderstood a bit. These "open to the public" shoots have been established years ago by the club. They were designed to introduce the public to our facilities and to promote the shooting sports. Getting the Club officials to add another "open to the public" shoot would be quite a undertaking.

Re: PAFOA/PMCS Group Shoot #53
Keep in mind that the gate will *not* be open (unless there happens to be some other event going on) so each non-member will have to meet their sponsoring member at the gate to sign them in, deposit their range fee, and escort them in.
