I will give you some advice though...never take relationship advice from anybody on a gun forum...there's a reason some of these guys are on their second marriage (or never have been married but think they know everything about it).
Now that's some pretty sound advice.

Ease her into it. If the garage is safe and protected by an alarm system the garage is OK for the short term but the ultimate goal has to be getting her used to being around guns and understanding that keeping the safe there is not a very good idea. Forcing the issue isn't a good idea and I think you have that down by now. Just get her over the fear and your trust in each other will make things work out on their own.

Slow and easy - if you push her, if she is like me, she will rebel ! My husband had guns, I had no interest. I don't know why but one day I decided I wanted one (a handgun) took a class and the rest is history.

My pre valentines gift is a S&W 686 revolver 4Inch it is sweeeet.

I suggest a book or 2 or 3 I bought many and ate them up. Here is a couple (The cornered cat on the web is also a book which i bought - very good) The first book i read and has stayed with me is this one - i think it convinced me that owning a gun is a wise choice.

See if you can get this book for her - Armed and Female - Taking control by Paxton Quigley (this is her 2nd edition, i read the first and second)

If she's interested, the NRA has a Women On Target program http://women.nra.org/womens-instruct...-near-you.aspx You don't have to be a NRA member.

There's also alot of NRA basic courses that could be something you do together.

    Good luck.

Make her a deal, if the guns are in the garage, then she has to keep all of her assault panties and shoes in the garage as well...

Really simple. The safe stays where I put it. End of conversation.

Regardless of where you put the safe, you need to bolt it to the floor. Most safes are broken into b/c the thieves tilt it over to get more leverage to pry the door.
