Re: Are Gun Clubs the new Gun Control freaks?
My thumb is sore by the time I have loaded 10 rounds. Can't imagine doing it for 30 rounds time after time.

Re: Are Gun Clubs the new Gun Control freaks?
I'm not shooting to empty a mag but even though I'm shooting to keep my skills up doesn't mean I want to stop every 5 shots to reload. As for the other crazy rules well.........

Re: Are Gun Clubs the new Gun Control freaks?
Well, the silly rules hit my club too.
Fleetwood F&G now has a six round pistol mag limit (3 round rifle).
I think they want the six rounds paced too.
I asked how I was to practice drills for IDPA with a shot timer?
I was told that it was to prevent full auto firing. I thought there was already a full auto ban.
Since the rules changed since I renewed, I'm considering asking for a dues rebate for my wife and I. I have to find a new club with sensible rules set up for ALL shooters.
This is the type of thinking that causes cave-ins to the Dems gun control. Instead of fixing a problem (if it even is a problem), they jump to banning things.

Re: Are Gun Clubs the new Gun Control freaks?
What really scares me is that some of these clubs seem to have stricter rules than the PGC ranges that cost $30 a year.

Re: Are Gun Clubs the new Gun Control freaks?
No, but they have significant incentive to take them over just like they take over school boards, city councils, and home owners associations. They've gotten very skilled at doing that, if you've noticed, and they have an established template now. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they do that to gun clubs or if they aren't now I'd bet they plan on it.
Also, there's a significant number of people involved in a lot of gun clubs who are 90% anti gun, meaning they're against every gun they don't personally own, i.e. Zumbos. While you can say they don't want to block or close gun clubs they do seem to carry the water for those who 100% do, and while 100% anti gun people don't build gun ranges, a 90% anti gun person making a 90% anti gun range which they do makes it almost as bad a deterrent of owning modern and interesting guns as legislation, and may inadvertently provide precedence to those bad laws by doing so.Last edited by Yellowfin; January 2nd, 2014 at 12:31 PM.
