    Thumb break style in leather is good retention. I don't know how the commercial holsters are, but on my own I made, I have to push the flap up after unsnapping to be able to draw, otherwise it hangs up. If this doesn't happen with the commercial ones, I would like to know what I am doing wrong so I can correct it! Maybe the leather needs thinned on the strap via skiving?

    where do you have the snap? on the commercial one i had, the snap was on the middle (on top) on the backstrap below the hammer, just unsnap with your thumb and pull up, the 2 straps would separate in the middle as you pulled.
