I'm surprised how popular critical defense is. It's performance in many barriers is sub par in a lot of the tests i've seen (it's not a bonded design), and it has very low energy compared to many of it's competitors in most calibers it's loaded in.

One of the biggest advantages of it is the bullet profile. It'll feed in damn near anything. Doesn't make it the greatest round out there, but, if you can't feed actual hollow points it's a good alternative.
