Re: Can you OC in the winter?
Sometimes I like to rock a drop/thigh holster. Most of my out-and-abouts don't involve an awful lot of actual being outside in the wintertime, so I rarely even wear a heavy coat since it only takes a few moments to get from the car to the store or whatever, and I'm not a giant bitch.

Re: Can you OC in the winter?
Funny enough, most people in this thread are probably also wearing gloves in cold weather and I bet they haven't shot or even tried to unholster their carry firearms with gloves on.
Worries about speed to draw and moisture getting on the weapon are of no value when you can't even unholster your gun much less fire with those thick fleece/leather/insulated gloves you wear.

Re: Can you OC in the winter?
This is why I wear plain Hatch shooting gloves as my winter gloves. They're adequately warm while thin enough to manipulate the gun should I need to. I have competed with them on, and my only complaint is some minor difficulty reloading mags.
I also picked up a pair of thin black deerskin gloves fitted as tightly as I could. I have tried some minor manipulations at home but have not yet used them enough to be comfortable wearing them in public.

Some of us have our own natural insulation and do not need to wear heavy coats.

As has been said - Waist length - ish jacket , non high ride holsters , except for extended time in really cold/ bad weather . Polypropylene base layer can help .
Rain/ snow/ sleet/ on the gun IS something to be aware . It can be done , but you can't do it And be lazy about it . Step up your wipe down and suitable lube / protectant routine as needed .
