the internet has been down all day here. It just came back up."damn comcast". We take our crew to the flea market on sundays. very rarely do we buy anything. We go so the dogs can get out in a setting that they can be trained around people. Today took almost two hours to get through it. The dogs draw a crowd.

We never give ours sqeucky toys. They drives us nuts with them. We used to pick up stuffed animals from yard sales, but that started to get expensive. when you get two of my guys on a stuffed animal somethings gonna give. Stuffing everywhere.

Love the stories and pics you guys have posted.

Hey mine was a rescue they didn't want her so now we have her.lol But seriously there is nere a more admirable thing then going and rescuing a new furry friend from a very uncertain fate.

Sorry about that. i believe i am the culprit this time. My wife and i took the kitten to the shelter about noon today. The gray feral has already settled down and has not attacked my other pets since the kitty is gone.

We will try to track him to see if he gets a home.

The feral gray is getting neutered next week and we will try to feather him into the mix at our house before Winter. They will give him a blood test first to determine if he has any major problems healthwise. If so, they will put him down.
He has survived 3 winters outside so far and has pretty much adopted us at this point. I hope he is healthy enough.

One other feral is fighting with the neighboring cats regularly and i may have to do something about that. we'll see.

5 cats, 2 dogs here. I can't go to the SPCA. We have rescued cats, squirrels, rabbits, etc. My wife thinks it's funny that I have a whole arsenal in the house but I won't even shoot a bird with a BB gun. Amazing for someone with so many guns designed for KILLING! LOL

Folks, POST ALL THE PET PICS YOU WANT!!!

I wasn't suggesting that you stop doing it.

I only posted the link to the other thread so people who didn't know about it could post their pics there too, if they want.

The topic here seems to be "rescue/shelter" animals... share your stories, show them off, post links to help homeless pets, whatever.

Thanks guy ... I was REALLY trying to get those few that didn't know about adopting and pet finder here ... didn't mean to 'feature' our pets, only trying to get others to look into adopting a loving new member of the family.

Once i replied, I realized the thread did focus on rescue pets.

I will at some point post these on the "pets of PAFOA" thread.

I finally took some pics of my new ferrets. I used my old camera that crapped out at the last 2 group shoots. Even though it worked for these pics, I'm still gonna get a new cam.

So, here are the latest additions to the extended family.

Here's Jilly Bean. She's a little older and the sleeping buddy of the ferret we chose to be the friend of our first "new" ferret.

Next is Moxie. She is the only vocal ferret we have and is continually making noises.

Last, but not least is our "big guy" Dobbit. He is completely deaf and the rescue ferret lady thought he was just by his coloring. His name is a mix of our first two rescue ferrets who are now gone. Dobbs and Dappit were their names and they are pictured on one of my previous posts.

The kitten is now at the shelter and should find a good home as he is a real cuty pie and they figured him to be about 8 weeks old. My wife donated $100 for his care which i hope will cover the cost of any tests and shots he might need.

The feral gray ( my wife calls him "Grayness") was really wierd on how he protected the kitten to the point of attacking all my other pets who ventured near the kitty. He constantly tries to get in the house and we find him inside a lot. He surprised my wife by getting in, going into the basement and using the communal litter twice (with 3 cats and this guy, the litter gets cleaned at least 3 or 4 times a day). He lets us carry him occasionally and hasn't sprayed in the house yet so when he gets neutered on Thursday, we hope to feather him into the household gradually by Winter.

Love the ferrets, I will admit there are times I REALLY miss mine .. there's is nothing funnier than a ferret doing the "Weasel War Dance" (for those of you that have never seen one do it it is hysterical)
