Re: New to Tannersville
The first thing about the Poconos that you need to learn is, NY has contaminated most of it.
There really aren't any real "thugish" areas any more. Even A Pocono Country Place has cleaned up, somewhat, in the past few years, as folks, with office jobs that would allow them to work remotely, fled NYC post-COVID.
Having said that, there really isn't an area in Monroe county where you can escape NYC influence any longer. The region itself is amazing and beautiful, with a lot to offer, especially outdoors. But, you'll get people behaving stupidly near Marshall's Creek, just the same as in Stroudsburg, or Mt. Pocono, or Effort, or Blakeslee.
It does, however, sound like you'll fit in nicely here. Welcome!Sed ego sum homo indomitus

Re: New to Tannersville
Thanks Sandcut. I am a New Yorker with a PA mindset. Especially with the 2nd amendment and individualism.
I vote Red. I left NYC to get away from the liberal "morals". I am a conservative Nationalist. I respect PA and just
want to fit in. When in Rome. I do not posses the NY stereotypes of being loud and obnoxious or a snob.
There is a Gadson flag in front of my home along with a sign saying "Beware Gun Owner". The "chosen" people
and joggers have destroyed NY. All of the Irish and Italians have left. Native New Yorkers are long gone. Ones like me
who voted for Guiliani.
We deserve our own space. People of European descent. I wish other groups all the luck in the world and have no ill will. I'm not
attacking other groups. However, I do agree with Scott Adams.
I want to meet like minded people and become part of the community.
Thank you guys for having me.

When I'm in the pokeinthenose, I get an odd urge to shove two-platers off the road.

Re: New to Tannersville
Maybe a little but i do what i can to hide it.
The New York accent is basically dead. Most people who live in NYC are not from there.
Most of the blue collar folks whom you are speaking of are long gone. Also, most of those people tend to
be very conservative salt of the either folks.
