Re: List of Shops Around Pittsburgh
Haha yes I have had a similar time with anthony's. I drove 45 friggen minutes to their store bcause I was told they had a few golden rod's in stock. I went there and asked the gentlemen whom I spoke to on th phone where they were located. He stood they're dazed and asked the other guys where they were at. "I'll be, were out... dangit" he says. I let him know how far I drove and that I was told by him they were stocked. Thank goodness gander was 2 minutes up the street.

Re: List of Shops Around Pittsburgh
Ace gets a 5...........never had a problem with them or their personel.
Big Buck gets a 1...........way to high priced, the owner is arrogant!
Braverman gets a 5..............old time gunshop. Wish we had more of them!
Sportman's Warehouse gets a 3.............fairly knowledgeable people!
Island Sports I'll give a 3............Wayne is an extremely nice guy.......but......he needs to get a handle on what he has in inventory. The place looks like a bomb went off in there!!!

Bill has a great selection. When he goes into his back room he can pull out just about anything. He is is a great guy to deal with. No attitudes here. I have been dealing with him for 18 years when his store was in his basement. One other thing about Powell is that he has great prices. I rate him a 5.

Sportsman's Warehouse - 3.........probably some of the best prices on new guns I have found, the downside is they don't sell any used guns.
The Shooter's Bench - 5........Ed is a great guy, cheap transfers, and he doesn't act like it's a hassle to receive a gun you bought online.
Anthony Arms - (-6).....yes that's a NEGATIVE 6. Went there once, will never go back, overpriced merchandise, arrogant, rude salespeople, and not very knowledgable.

Re: List of Shops Around Pittsburgh
I agree that Bill should consider increased hours. He has had those hour for as long as I have conducted business with him over the last 18 years. I drive from Bethel Park and it is well worth it because of his prices and service. I have not found anything on line that with shipping and FFL fees that is cheaper than Bill."He who goes unarmed in paradise had better be sure that is where he is."

Great deals. I buy most of my firearms there.

Re: List of Shops Around Pittsburgh
A & S - 4 stars. The shooting range is pretty nice and the staff if very helpful.
Anthony Arms - 4 stars. Very nice shooting range but you have to buy their ammo. Staff is helpful and friendly and they have a decent selection of firearms.
Ace - 3 stars. Very nice selection of firearms. Not as accomdating on handling firearm transfers - they insist that it be a used gun and hassled me a bit when my brother gave me the XD45 that he didn't want anymore because it didn't "look used" - it hadn't been shot much...
Sportsmans Warehouse - 4 stars. Good selection, friendly and mostly helpful staff, large variety of ammo at fairly decent prices.
