    What sticks! I don't see it that way. It's what applies to the situation. When things shake out let us know what happens.

    One doesn't have to physically touch another person to be charged with assault.
    § 2701. Simple assault.

    (a) Offense defined.--Except as provided under section 2702 (relating to aggravated assault), a person is guilty of assault if he:

    (1) attempts to cause or intentionally, knowingly or recklessly causes bodily injury to another;

    (2) negligently causes bodily injury to another with a deadly weapon;

    (3) attempts by physical menace to put another in fear of imminent serious bodily injury; or

    (4) conceals or attempts to conceal a hypodermic needle on his person and intentionally or knowingly penetrates a law enforcement officer or an officer or an employee of a correctional institution, county jail or prison, detention facility or mental hospital during the course of an arrest or any search of the person.

    Operators of the system that issues LTCFs can get notifications of arrests for individuals within their county. As soon as your friend had the warrant issued for his arrest, or was arrested and fingerprinted, they probably received notification. He would then be ineligible for a license due to this:

    ARE YOU NOW CHARGED WITH, OR HAVE YOU EVER BEEN CONVICTED OF A CRIME PUNISHABLE BY IMPRISONMENT FOR ATERM EXCEEDING ONE YEAR? THIS IS THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE YOU COULD HAVE RECEIVED, NOT THE ACTUALSENTENCE YOU DID RECEIVE. (IT DOES NOT INCLUDE FEDERAL OR STATE OFFENSES PERTAINING TO ANTITRUST, UNFAIRTRADE PRACTICES, RESTRAINTS OF TRADE, OR REGULATION OF BUSINESS; OR STATE OFFENSES CLASSIFIED ASMISDEMEANORS AND PUNISHABLE BY A TERM OF IMPRISONMENT NOT EXCEEDING TWO YEARS.)

    As soon as his case gets cleared up, have him wait about a week for everything to make it into the system and have him contact the office for reinstatement.
