Re: So I want a .44 Mag..
Do what I did, get a $350 Rossi snub nose 44 mag.
Stop typing everyone, I'm joking Got mine just to have a hand cannon, shoot a few rounds, then put in the safe to be taken out once or twice a year - collectible? Insert laugh and "hell no" here. My brother has a Colt 44 mag - very nice, but worth the money, ??. The Smith sounds like a good deal. Or, as already mentioned, just get both of them............."Tastefully Pimptastic"

One other good thing I've read to help when buying a used revolver is this:

You said the anaconda looks like someone tried to remove leading and scratched it so make sure they didn't do anything else stupid to itGo head, skin it. Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.

Maintanence on a firearm, to remove leading , should not include residual & noticeable scratches. [I]Beware!
Take the Colt to a Gunsmith, if at all possible. If that's a no-go; Get the ....S&W.
Here … Hold my drink; and watch this.

Once I get a little more familiar around here I will come up with a better way to make big exciting news even bigger and more exciting, but since I don't really know how to use the forum yet. Here it is... I picked the Anaconda!! very excited the shop also had JHP ammo!! I am going to try and upload a pic and see how this works out.

Congrats, and enjoy. If you've never fired a .44mag before, hold on, it's quite an experience, definitely some recoil there.

Re: So I want a .44 Mag..
Congrats. For that kind of money, I would expect seller to put better grips on it, but that's neither here nor there. The beauty of 44mag and 357mag is the ability to reload, so if you plan on shooting it more than a box or two a month, it would be worth the effort to check into it. Save all your brass whether you decide to reload or not as they are of value and can be sold to offset the cost of buying factory ammo.
