Re: Saving Beans and Rice
I had a Mormon friend when I lived in OH back in the 70s. He showed me their food and water stockpile. It was complete with firearms.

Re: Saving Beans and Rice
We have several larger bags of sugar, which were not refrigerated or did we use 02 in them. I simply put them in a mylar bag, sealed most of the top shut but kept a small slot open to put a vacuum thin nozzle to suck out air...once it was super tight I used a hair straightening iron to seal shut. Good for years. Same with flour...but put them in freezer for a week, once they were sealed shut.
This food shortage is going to gain steam as these corrupt mother fuckers keep pushing their green agenda on farmers...even though some of the largest financial firms have pretty much given up on the green/ESG move.
If you haven't been stocking up on the basics that you eat and have a good assortment of recipes which allow you to use those items, in different ways, giving you a good source of nutrition and not suffering from food fatigue...you are being short sighted. Its not rocket science...and paralysis via over analysis, isn't going to serve you well.
This forum is a great medium for asking questions and getting answers. There isn't just one right answer...but many different ways to do the same thing. Food and water will be the next huge fight...as we see the ongoing destruction of food processing facilities, manufacturing plants, farms, the elimination of fertilizers...all of this is going to reach a tipping point. Doing nothing to help yourself is lame...unless you think others are going to be generous with their stash, which is highly unlikely.
You could survive on rice and beans alone...a good part of Latin and Central America does it every day.
