I am the same but I have always shot left-handed with a long gun. I write right handed, shoot a pistol right handed but shoot a long gun left handed. I never fought it and my safes are full of left handed shotguns and rifles.

I am the same but reverse hands and eyes. I now actually prefer a pistol in my right hand. Haven't had a chance to train myself on long guns, though.

    Flappin pervs....

OK, maybe I should have said "I mount a gun on my right shoulder" and shoot right handed.

I can see where the minds are... But, I would have done the same.

I can shoot any one of these rifles (iron sights) at 100-200 yards from the prone position and shoot 1.5 MOA groups. As long as you can sharply focus on the the front sight, thats all you need to be able to do. It doesn't matter if the target is out of focus (this is true for pistol shooting as well). You didn't mention scoped or iron sights? For scoped it shouldn't matter at all as long as you can focus. Now if you were shooting trap or sporting clays it would be a different story. There are many aspects to good shooting technique, I'd look at other aspects to improve your accuracy.
Iron sights. Scope's not a problem.

I am left handed and shoot left handed but am right eye dominant. I simply close my right eye and shoot.

This doesnt work if you are physically unable to close just the right eye.
You'd be forced to shoot a long gun right handed or use an eye patch!

    You're right about that!
For those people this works rather well: http://www.theshootersbox.com/store/...roducts_id=546

Or placing a piece of scotch tape (frosted) on the lens of the dominant eye to prevent the eye from seeing the front sight works just as well. The tape doesn't need to cover the whole lens, only a tiny portion. Hold you rifle in position and place a small square of tape on your glasses just enough to block you vision of the front sight.

Try placing your cheek more on top of the stock and using your left eye for the iron sights. Even sporting stocks with the monte carlo feature can accommodate this.

I suffer from the same problem.
An eye patch allows you to totally relax and focus better with your right eye.
Try it and see how it works for you. works great for me
