Re: The Ellwand Shooting Sports Academy
Has anybody heard any update about the building of the shooting range? I drive by on 228 every morning and night to and from work. They are moving dirt but there is more being built there than the shooting range.

Re: The Ellwand Shooting Sports Academy
Knowing something about their business model, they're not seeing competition from Keystone and IMPAX as a problem. I think the Rt. 228 site is finally a "go".

Shooting academy site gets OK in Adams Township

ADAMS TWP — Planning commissioners on Wednesday gave site plan approval for a new shooting academy proposed for Route 228 and Scharberry Lane and tentative approval to the Brookhaven proposed residential development.
In the past, residents and officials have raised concerns about possible noise from the proposed shooting academy.
Company representatives attempted to put those concerns to rest at the commissioners meeting.
The Ellwand Shooting Sports Academy is a 6.97 acre plan that will feature a wide variety of shooting ranges including a 200-yard underground range, tactical training ranges for law enforcement, a shotgun bay, and archery and BB gun ranges as well.
Dave Gemperle, Ellwand Shooting Sports Academy president, told commissioners the facility will be state of the art with dense, high-tech panels designed to trap sound. The panels would be mounted throughout the ranges to minimize sound, he said.
Commissioners voted to approve the site plan.Last edited by scruff; July 22nd, 2019 at 09:30 PM.

Re: The Ellwand Shooting Sports Academy
Sounds like an awesome facility if it ends up as large as they describe. I shoot at keystone quite a bit and I think tEllwand would have the setup they describe to be competitive with them.
Tactical bays and 100 yard indoor ranges would be pretty sweet.
