Was there the day after Christmas this year. Husband and I both CC'd. No signs posted that we saw (we looked carefully on front doors before going in), no metal detectors. Wear your walking shoes, warm coat, mittens and a hat - lots of wind tunnels while walking building to building.

I visited just before Christmas. there is signs posted NO FIREARMS.
I noticed on the way out though.
CC'd with no problem.
the sign is not at front door but as you exit in the first set of outside gardens.

The years when Wifey was a Chamber of Commerce officer, they held the yearly banquets there. It is fantastic dining, dancing and wandering around the old conservatory.
Don't miss the carillon when you go!
Don't know what the entrance fee is now, but I remember as a young'un, we got in for 50 cents!
