Re: FW: Obama will NOT reinstitute assault weapons ban
But he wants congress to ratify CIFTA ir known to us as the Inter-American Arms Treaty.
The treaty bans "illicit" manufacture of firearms.
the manufacture or assembly of firearms, ammunition, explosives, and other related materials:
a. from components or parts illicitly trafficked; or
b. without a license from a competent governmental authority of the State Party where the manufacture or assembly takes place; or
c. without marking the firearms that require marking at the time of manufacturing.
So, this would imply that you would need a government license to assemble a firearm (ever build an AR?)
It would regulate carriage of weapons...
1. States Parties shall exchange among themselves, in conformity with their respective domestic laws and applicable treaties, relevant information on matters such as:
a. authorized producers, dealers, importers, exporters, and, whenever possible, carriers of firearms, ammunition, explosives, and other related materials;
Wouldn't it be great if the names of LTCF holders were shared with Mexico, or Argentina? How fast would that list get sold to a reporter and published in the local or national press?
This is a bad treaty and we should all be contacting our reps to oppose the treaty.Complete equality isn't compatible with democracy, but it is agreeable to totalitarianism. After all the only way to ensure the equality of the slothful, the inept and the immoral is to suppress everyone else. - Iain Benson

Re: FW: Obama will NOT reinstitute assault weapons ban
Hey, how bout me. I'd love to have a beer with ya all---even if i had to buy--actually, i hope i do need to buy.
I think O will add a tax to ammo and guns. It will be just like he did for smokers.
Anymore, ammo and guns is the big seller---they got to get their hands into that. Hell, how else are they going to pay for all their spending.
So, can i play too?
