Re: Challenging A Denial In Court On Your Own?
Yes, I have called a few. Yes, I probably wouldn't be calm enough doing it myself. Thanks!

Re: Challenging A Denial In Court On Your Own?
Just to be clear, you should have received a Challenge Form with correspondence from the Sheriff's Office that indicated that you were denied. They should have marked "PICS DENIAL" at the top of the page and written in or typed a DATE. You have 30 days from that date for PSP to receive your form back. It isn't challenged in court at this point in time. PICS is initially an automated system and DOES make errors. If the challenge is reversed, PSP will provide you with a letter that indicates that a previous denial has been reversed. You are to take that reversal letter to the Sheriff's Office when you go to get your LTCF. They will do ANOTHER PICS check, but if there is an issue, the Deputy can call PICS and provide them with information from the letter.

Here is a copy of the form in case anyone has never seen one.

I think I recall the op posting about this some time ago.

Re: Challenging A Denial In Court On Your Own?
It's a state application processed by the counties, I doubt that applying in another county would make any difference. I would expect the state to bounce it back quickly. My initial application was denied and it took me almost a year to get my criminal access report (I think it's called) back from the state. By then, a year was up and I went in with that report in hand and applied again. The sheriff said that he didn't understand why I was denied in the first place but the second app was approved.

Re: Challenging A Denial In Court On Your Own?
Interesting I did not get a challenge form from the Sheriff's office, just a letter saying it was denied
