    The one thing that no one has mentioned is that some people don't like the way the Glocks feel in their hands. So try before you buy.

    You never told us what you wanted it for. Target shooting and home defense go for the 17 or the 17L. Concealed carry well there is a thread on here about a million miles long about how the 23 is the best personal defense gun ever made. I like Glocks but would never go that far.

    As for ammo, you can go to a store and price it out and decide for yourself.

    I recommend the G17 as well.

    The G19 is a plus because it conceals better, and will except G17 magazines. I have a G19 and love it.

    I owned a G27 (.40) and a Sig in .40, and they were both a little snappy with regards to recoil. I have a G26 (subcompact 9mm) and a G21sf (.45acp) that I shoot equally well, and they don't snap like the .40s did.
