I just got off the phone with Toomey's office.

His amendment includes background checks for online sales and all sales at gun shows.

This is pretty much the state as things are today, so why a new law saying essentially the same thing?

To me this seems like an attempt to appease the opposition. I told the staff member this and that I'd like Toomey to oppose the motion to proceed on this stuff. Ridiculous.

Because the devil is in the details......and it'll be another 2500 page bill...watch and see.
It'll take 100 years to figure it out.....these fuckers are EVIL.

current law only requires NICS in private sales that involve handguns. long guns do not need NICS.

It made me sick when I saw Lard bucket Rendell saying what a courageous man Toomey is for stepping up.
Really? Going against everything you said you stood for and lying to the people who elected you? Swearing you would follow your commitments and the Constitution?
