I’ve been absent around these parts but listening to the abundance of “kick off to summer, sale sale sale, and let’s remember our fallen by visiting our flower shop” BS I remembered this thread and feel like bumping it. So before we crack that beer and light the charcoal take a moment to think of those this “holiday” is about. The ones that left to serve this great nation and never came back.

Was planning on joining the ride to Washington's Crossing Veterans Cemetery , , , but , , ,

VA regulations 38 CFR 1.218 prohibit the carrying of firearms (either openly or concealed), explosives or other dangerous or deadly weapons while on VA property, except for official purposes, such as military funeral honors. Possession of firearms on any property under the charge and control of VA is prohibited. Offenders may be subject to a fine, removal from the premises, or arrest.

Is there an exemption for the honor guard?

I didn*t know that when we were there for the groundbreaking ceremony.

Thank you to those that kept this thread alive. I don’t venture to these forums much unfortunately but I appreciate you guys keeping this one alive in my absence. As we approach another Memorial Day I once again ask our fellow gun enthusiasts to not only enjoy your “holiday” and cook outs but take some time out of your day, a minute or 20 minutes but remember the freedoms you have and those brave souls that gave everything including their life to defend that. I never served but I wish I could find a way to thank all of those that were KIA fighting to give me the life I have. Times are tough right now, we have a potato for a president, there’s 38 genders, if you aren’t black you’re a racist nazi, and the world as we know it is crumbling before us but through it all there’s still patriots defending our real way of life and there were true hero’s that gave the ultimate sacrifice believing that. So let’s honor them before we fire up those grills and crack open those beers. RIP to all of those fighters of freedom, Godspeed.
