Re: 9MM VS 10MM, .40CAL, .45CAL
That article is full of outright common sense.
My wife carries a 9mm because she enjoys shooting it for fun and training, and she shoots it well.
I carry .38 Special +Ps instead of .357 for the same reasons. Ever since I heroically injured my wrist in the line of duty one night as a Security Policeman (by heroically falling on my ass), the "snappy" recoil of .357s and .40s hurts me, so I don't enjoy shooting them.
The .45 doesn't bother, and I think Cathy would enjoy shooting them, but that's not what we have at the moment.
Incidentally, what he says about even trained men and women shooting till their threat is gone, no matter how many rounds they are trained to fire, is also dead on. This was brought home to me when a gate guard fired 15 rounds from her M9 one night at a driver who had tried several times to run her over. She insisted in the following investigation, and to me privately later, that she only remembered firing two rounds. Guess how many we were trained to fire?"Never give up, never surrender!" Excellent article.

Re: Expert advice on selecting a handgun
He lost me at the term: Private Citizen CCW Operators
Ummm..... WTF?
I fully though the terms 'Mall Ninja' and 'Couterstike Operator' were coming next.
If you *really* do talk like this.... WOW.
More ammo is better? Yeah, ok, I'll buy that.

Re: Expert advice on selecting a handgun
I really liked that article, thanks!
I agree with what the article says. Part of the reason I got my g19. I just recently found some 40 cal bullets from a long gone pistol, and you can hardly tell the difference in caliber."See, this side is well roasted; turn me on the other and eat." St. Lawrence

Re: Expert advice on selecting a handgun
Damn, now I need to find a new reason to justify my 1911 as a carry......

Re: Expert advice on selecting a handgun
Why'd this get pulled out of "Pistols" and into General? The only subject discussed is pistols......
