Re: A new hurdle to jump during the handgun purchase
IDK, I guess I never paid attention. it's like filling out your vehicle registration renewal.
Do you think they really read everything, like your insurance info? I filled it out wrong (on purpose),
and it passed.
When you get a background check, its what does he look like, that's if someone picks up the phone.FJB

Re: A new hurdle to jump during the handgun purchase
I just put n/a since i'm retired. I really hate these forms I had my cg liscnse to run a 100 ton boat fingerprinted did all their dumb ass forms and met all their requirements yet every time I buy a gun it's the same story. This is the computer age this should be easy and fast but it never seems to be either

Who do you work for? I work for my family! If you*re working for anyone other than your family, they deserve better.
Ok , who is your employer? A raging shit-head I call *Bill*.

Re: A new hurdle to jump during the handgun purchase
When on patrol we had to maintain a work log with an entry or two each hour. "Met with Mister Donald Duck" and "Lunch with Minnie Mouse" went unnoticed.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

I believe that the employment section on the PA ROS form can be left blank. I have been to shops where they use a computerized version of the form, and that part is blank when it gets signed.

Re: A new hurdle to jump during the handgun purchase
If the shop is leaving the employers section blank, sooner or later they are going to get it back from PICS. It has to be filled in unless some note is made such as Retired, Unemployed etc. If self employed, noting that and for address listing See Above is sufficient.

Re: A new hurdle to jump during the handgun purchase
Never have I ever had to enter my employer info on an SP4-113. There's a spot for it, but I've never even been asked to fill it out. Heck, even Cabela's doesn't require it (not even an option for it when completing via their computer).
