Did you lightly sand between coats of poly?

Ok cool, Minwax poly is kind of thin so don't be afraid to put a third coat on if you think you need it. I wouldn't go more than four coats because satin finish poly can sometimes get a cloudy look with too many coats. Other than that you did good

No problem, thin coats is the way to go to keep those evil drips and runs from forming. Btw I just refinished the stocks on my WASR but I can't make the decision to take of my tapco stuff and put the wood back on.

Linseed is what a lot of people use to refinish the furniture on their Yugos. It gives a finish very similar to the original Yugo finish. I wouldn't worry about for a Rommy. Yours likes great!

Looks good! I could never get the red dark enough on wasr furniture, don't know why.

Are you noticing any roughness to the poly finish? If not, good for you, if you are, I'd suggest sanding it lightly till the bumps are out, then applying some rub on minwax polycoat. Stuff works wonders, dries hard and smooth and doesn't leave imperfections like brush marks or runs.

I tried the boiled linseed oil once myself and won't do it again. After I did it, I let the gun sit and dry for a few days but when I shot it the oil heated up and dripped all over my hands. It looked really nice, but was tough to hold onto the weapon afterward.

Good job, be careful, it becomes an addiction.
