Kudos to the Bucks County Sheriff's Dept.
Finally decided to apply for my LTCF. So I go to the courthouse, ask for an application, fill it out, pay my $46 and 15 minutes later I'm walking out with my license in hand. As a matter of fact, the female clerk was very supportive of our right to carry, and when I told her that my wife was going to learn to shoot she advised that I have her get a license to carry also.

Re: Kudos to the Bucks County Sheriff's Dept.
The $46 included the photo.
Also, since she still had my license in her hand, and she was only the clerk and not the sheriff, and she was nice, I decided not to challange her when she was giving me the rundown on where I could and could not carry and told me that the county had recently passed a prohibition on carrying firearms in county parks. I figured that that would be a battle for another day. But I thought that I'd mention it here in case it's news to anyone.

Im 58 and have had my ltcf issued in Bucks since I have beeen 21 years old. Don't even remember who was sheriff back then. Thats 37 years for the math wizzards. Never any problems or issues. Love it that we can go five years now instead of every year taking off from work.

Re: Kudos to the Bucks County Sheriff's Dept.
I'm a fan of the current Sheriff of Bucks, he's not hostile to lawful gun ownership, yet Bucks county doesn't seem to have gun fights erupting at every traffic light and tavern. Go figure.
On the other hand, the Philadelphia PD does every legal and illegal trick it can to discourage gun ownership and gun carrying, yet Philadelphia has twice the crime rate per capita of the rest of the Commonwealth.
It's almost as though lawful gun owners aren't the cause of crime at all.

I concur that $46 seems a bit high. I paid $25 in pittsburgh but had to wait about 20 days to get it. I guess the extra $21 is for speedy service.

Lancaster was only $25 and that included them taking the picture for the plastic hard card.
