Ruger Mark III ?
Hi all, Just wondering about a Ruger i saw, Mark III , LNIB with 3 Ruger Mags and all that comes with it , Its a Blued 5 1/2 inch bull bbl. THe Blued finish is impeccable like the gun has never been used. All for $299 at a Gun Store , is that a good price for a LNIB Ruger Mark III ?
Thanks, Nyman

Re: Ruger Mark III ?
Sounds a little high to me... I paid @ $340 for a new one about 14 months ago, but don't remember if that included tax or not. I have no idea what they go for used... you might check Gunbroker to get an idea.

Re: Ruger Mark III ?
If your ok with buying used, maybe look into a MKII, less fluff than the current rugers.
Mag disconnect=pain in the butt when cleaning
Loaded chamber ind.= less accurate (depends who you ask)
Disclaimer: I own a MKIII and it is very very accurate, I have no complaints about it (other than the "mag in, pull trigger, mag out, etc procedure"). I just wanted to buy new so I went with it.The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.

That's a fair price on the current market. I've seen them +/- $50 on that price. A MK III is also a very good .22.

Re: Ruger Mark III ?
I have 2, 5 1/2 bull barrel MKIII's (one threaded for a suppressor). Both of mine are very accurate and have been trouble free. There is a specific sequence to taking them apart, but if you follow the instructions you have no problems.
$299 isn't bad if it's in good shape. The MSRP (new) is right around $420. Dealer pricing (new) is low $270's.Ron USAF Ret E-8 FFL01/SOT3 NRA Benefactor Member

Re: Ruger Mark III ?
I have a MKIII 22/45 , but I don't remember what I paid for it. I always forget what I paid for firearms the moment it is in my hands. They are REALLY good guns and gosh are they fun as hell to shoot.

Re: Ruger Mark III ?
I just recently purchased a Mk III, but with the standard barrel. Like new with a bull barrel for $300 is a pretty excellent price I think because it has the bull barrel. Make sure it's not a 22/45, though--that wouldn't be the best price. 22/45's have a bull barrel standard, but a polymer frame, so the base 22/45 sells for less than the base Mk III.
You'll probably want one of these as well.
Good luck. Mk III's are excellent .22s and are fun to shoot!

Re: Ruger Mark III ?
No its not a .22/45, its all blued steel , solid as heck, impeccable shape like it just came from the factory, in Ruger case with 3 ruger mags and paperwork.
A 22/45 with the lightweight 4 inch bbl. is on my list too. Should make a nice camping /hiking gun etc.
