Out of state FL question?
I was wonder if many here have a out of State FL permit ?
I got one a couple years ago, because I live very close to DE.
I am wondering if it covers having a long gun in my car ?
I cant seem to find the answer anywhere.

Re: Out of state FL question?
Nothing allows a LOADED long gun in your car in PA.
Most multi- holders have FL or UT, some have NH.

Re: Out of state FL question?
I am sorry I did word that right,
I meant to ask if my FL permit allows me to carry a long gun in DE, loaded or not.
Thanks
As far as being loaded or not in PA is there some where I can see this Law?
I called the Sheriff Dept several years ago and asked, they said my PA permit is to carry "Firearm" which does not say Pistol only.

Re: Out of state FL question?
In Pa a Firearm is .....
Any pistol or revolver with a barrel length less than 15 inches, any shotgun with a barrel length less than 18 inches or any rifle with a barrel length less than 16 inches, or any pistol, revolver, rifle or shotgun with an overall length of less than 26 inches. The barrel length of a firearm shall be determined by measuring from the muzzle of the barrel to the face of the closed action, bolt or cylinder, whichever is applicable.

Re: Out of state FL question?
I believe this is the "no loaded long guns" law..
18 Pa.C.S. § 6106.1: Carrying loaded weapons other than firearms
(a) General rule.-- Except as provided in Title 34 (relating to game), no person shall carry a loaded pistol, revolver, shotgun or rifle, other than a firearm as defined in section 6102 (relating to definitions), in any vehicle. The provisions of this section shall not apply to persons excepted from the requirement of a license to carry firearms under section 6106(b)(1), (2), (5) or (6) (relating to firearms not to be carried without a license) nor shall the provisions of this section be construed to permit persons to carry firearms in a vehicle where such conduct is prohibited by section 6106.

Re: Out of state FL question?
to answer your question your florida CCW does not cover carrying a rifle in florida or elsewhere, but you can carry/possess a unloaded rifle in delaware or florida under federal law in you vehicle.
when you received your florida permit you also received a brochure from the state outlining what is allow and what isn't allowed. you didn't read it, it specifically says its for a concealed pistol, in florida all rifles and shotguns must be unloaded when transported in motor vehicle. Delaware has the same law

No carrying of loaded shotgun or rifle in vehicle according to De Code Chapter 7:

No person shall have a loaded shotgun or rifle in that person's possession in, against or on any automobile, other vehicle, any piece of farm machinery, motorboat while under power, sailboat while under power, or have any ammunition in the magazine or chamber of such shotgun or rifle except when it is otherwise lawful to hunt crippled migratory birds from a motorboat as permitted by federal law.

Re: Out of state FL question?
I have a FL non resident permit and I would only transport a long gun in a carry case locked in a trunk with the ammo in another location not near the long gun case. I would believe you would be ok like this. And hopefully your planning on going hunting or target shooting with it and can prove that's your destination.
