Re: CCP & Pawn Shops?
As they used to say at the U.S. Army Transportation School back in the late 1960s, "Your red hand, not your yellow hand."
a. Brick red and canary yellow are the U.S. Army Transportation Corps colors.
b. Back in the late 1960s (when there was still a draft), the U.S. Army inducted a number of less-than-intelligent people under Project 100,000 (that's how many were drafted). These less-than-intelligent people would be used in military jobs not requiring any heavy thinking (box humpers, military stevedores, manual labor type engineer jobs, etc.).
c. Those arriving at the Transportation School had problems figuring out which was their right hand and which was their left. Solution? A Red glove for the Right hand, and a yellow glove for the left hand.Last edited by Statkowski; August 7th, 2009 at 09:09 PM.

Re: CCP & Pawn Shops?
My memory is a little fuzzy, but I seem to remember being in a pawn shop in Harrisburg back in the middle 1970's. I remember that I was looking at the jewelry because I was wanting to get a ring for myself with a knight or Trojan soldier carved in the stone. It would have been down where the old bus station was, but that whole area was demolished to build Strawberry Square.

Bunch of pawn shops down town!!
None pawn guns.
I guess they know everybody would buy the gun, and return to pawn it in 5 hours. . .

Re: CCP & Pawn Shops?
Hate to tell you this but the same thing happens when you put a gun on consignment at a gun shop and then take it back if it doesn't sell. Just happened to me a few months ago with my lever action shotgun (which I had bought face to face) ....
