Re: Has anyone ever registered SBRs in Lancaster??
Thank you Gun Bowanna. That is good news to me. Does it matter who I have sign it? The Manor Township C.O.P. would be far more convenient since the station is 2 minutes from my house.

Going for a 300 Whisper by any chance?

What a coincedence, I know you wern't asking me, But, I'm building a .300Whisper Bolt gun.
Savage Action w/Accutrigger, B&C composite stock w/Aluminum bedding block.
16.5" Christensen Arms carbon Fiber barrel threaded for a Suppressor..
It's been over at Sid Goodlings place to get chambered for a few months now ( he's pretty busy, too).
I thought I was patient, but now that you brought it up I gotta start honding the man. It's getting warm out and the hogs 'll be out soon.
Think, Click, PPpffttth, thump. Oh, Yeah
I know, I know, it ain't an SBR but the Whisper reference just brought it up.Wouldn't you like to know what's in my safe.

Re: Has anyone ever registered SBRs in Lancaster??
I got my 300-221 upper for my AR a week ago and haven't gotten around to assembling ammo for breaking it in yet. I've been through a couple moves and my loading gear is in boxes in various locations in both the garage and basement.
I found the rock chucker and it has a bit of rust on it I need to see to :-(
I've got new redding dies for the 300-221. I can even make my own brass from 221 Fireball or 223 Rem / 5.56 NATO in a pinch. I don't have power equipment for brass production so I ordered brass from one of the people who makes lots of it on Quarterbore.
Anyway, I noticed that a lot of the 300 Whisper folks go with SBRs. I can see why. They look cool. And they are handier with a can on the end than a 16" barrel. But I don't care for the tradeoffs. The big one is the requirement to get permission from the ATF to cross state lines with the thing. And of course paying for a $200 tax stamp to reduce the super sonic capabilities of the barrel is also irksome.

Re: Has anyone ever registered SBRs in Lancaster??
Fudmottin,
I am not going with 300 Whisper, I'm staying with 223. I already bought and received the POF 9.25" upper and I am going to buy a Surefire FA556-212 later today or Wednesday. The Whisper does seem like a badass cartridge though...
