Missing 13th Amemndment to US Constitution
As soon as I learned of this, I felt obliged to post:
http://www.lawfulpath.com:80/ref/13th-amend.shtml
The implications are mind-boggling to say the least.

Re: Missing 13th Amemndment to US Constitution
Do you mean to say that our elected officials are ignoring the U.S. Constitution?

Re: Missing 13th Amemndment to US Constitution
It just goes to show you how far back the corruption goes. If this was ratified we would not have a complete government full of slime ball lawyers.
It is a shame.

Re: Missing 13th Amemndment to US Constitution
A few points on this topic:
1. You can dismiss the references to the Articles of Confederation, except for their historical context, as they are no longer valid, being replaced by the Constitution.
2. In The Constitution of the United States, Article 1, Sections 9 and 10, 2 points:
a) neither the U.S. government nor any state government confers any titles of nobility on any of its citizens, and
b) office holders are prevented from accepting any present, emolument, office, or title from any foreign State.
3. Even if the then proposed 13th Amendment were ratified, it would not prevent any lawyer in the U.S. from running for or holding any public office, as the current term "esquire" carries no official recognition of nobility in the same historical context as that proposed in the article you linked to.
This is not to imply that lawyers do not wield excess power in government, just that the "missing 13th Amendment" would not prevent that.

Re: Missing 13th Amemndment to US Constitution
Not really sure where you're getting your historical info. Ol' Honest Abe actually suspended the writ of "HABEAS" corpus in 1861. And since Jefferson Davis was the President of the Confederate States of America, I'm not so sure he could suspend habeas corpus, nor could he implement a draft (except in the South, but, I'm pretty sure there were enough volunteers) or supress freedom of the press. Maybe there is another Jefferson Davis you're thinking of?

Well.... If Osama, oops, Obama, and friends want to hold a Constitutional Convention to overturn, oops, update the Constitution, maybe this is an issue that should be revisited........?
