    Question lube

    I like to watch firearm restoration videos. I've been noticing lately they have been putting some yellow colored grease on the heavy springs, do you guys know what they're using

    Probably Lubriplate which was developed in WWII or the browner stuff in the little pots they used in Vietnam. I up grease on every part that slides. It also dampens the springs "twang" sound so I always put a small dab on my AR-15's recoil spring in the stock to quiet it.
