lube
I like to watch firearm restoration videos. I've been noticing lately they have been putting some yellow colored grease on the heavy springs, do you guys know what they're using

Re: lube
Probably Lubriplate which was developed in WWII or the browner stuff in the little pots they used in Vietnam. I up grease on every part that slides. It also dampens the springs "twang" sound so I always put a small dab on my AR-15's recoil spring in the stock to quiet it.

Re: lube
I might have missed it but I didn't see Lubriplate 130-A. That is the mil spec grease developed for Garands and still an excellent firearm grease. I a sure there is a new uber special grease made from snake oil but since you can buy a one pound lifetime supply of lubriplate for $10-15 the question is why would you bother.
