I really don*t understand how people are supporting Gabbard. She*s a Democrat. They don*t change their spots.

Marine, graduated Yale (not a great indicator, except it shows he's smart enough and hardworking) and 39 years old -
Junior senator from Ohio that went from "Never Trumper" to strong supporter.

Sounds like a good pick to infuriate the left.

    Trump was a democrat.
    Reagan was a democrat.
JD Vance was a never Trumper.
Gabbard renounced the Democrat party and became an independent. I think the only reason she was a Democrat before is that you cannot get elected in Hawaii as anything else.

Strap on in, the left is going to make this all about white supremacy now. Whitey whitey whitey - all we're gonna hear.

I appreciate the complete absence of DEI here, and Vance is clearly a smart and thoughtful guy, but I don't see him increasing Trump's voting pool.

I have been reading up on JD Vance the last few days, I think he is a solid choice, very little the left can scorn him with, with the exception of abortion.
Frankly he should have picked an outlier in Allina Habbas, she has energy and is very smart (easy on the eyes) and would make the lefty bull **** cows heads explode
I think he is saving Vivek for Chief of Staff or perhaps SEC of Homeland or Interior where he could do quite a bit

Yeah and three mixed-race kids so DEI is nominally covered. I still worry about the left going hard on the Vance pick for being pro-life since that's all they have to scare breeders into voting for them. Some are making hay about past Trump comments and he being a former Never Trumper, but I see the turnaround as a net positive...kind of like like an ex-smoker becoming rapid anti-cigarette crusader.

I am glad he did not pick her. But I am willing to give her a chance down the road if she keeps traveling her current path. Coops has a good post.

People do change. I know a few people that 15 years ago were hard left, anti gun people that have done a 180. I can*t hold someone reevaluating and learning against them.
