Default 🤔Smoothing out your ride | 'Fresh Oil and Chips'

It's that time to get your vehicle under coated!

Not every road can be seal coated, but for ones that can, it's significantly more cost-effective than paving, with the end result of preserving the life of the road.

Makes for extra fun for those rolling down the road on two wheels. See this sign and it has "potential bad day" written all over it...

Ya' got that right! I abhor it, but as a taxpayer, I have to appreciate the savings. IIRC, it's something like 5-10% of the cost of repaving.

As a taxpayer you should be asking, "What the bell is happening to all of the taxes we pay for the roads in this state?"

Calculate the taxes paid the next time you fill your tank - $0.58 per gallon for PA tax and $0.18 for the feds. We get dinged at the pump, with inspection fees, emission fees, sales taxes, tire taxes, registration fees, etc... Look at the number of different classifications of registrations, and the fees associated (pdf report available at dmv.pa.gov), and you have to start scratching your head. And then we get tar & chip roads? WTF?! Those roads suck - period.

Yeah, a shit ton of local roads around me have just been done. Lots of actual repaving as well.

Not really sure how much it helps the road - every flaw is still there.

Our roads are shit. This is an unavoidable fact. Despite having the second highest fuel tax in the nation, which is intended to maintain the roads. All our politicians are shysters lining their pockets with taxpayer money that should be going to maintain roads.

How much you want to bet those taxes find their way in to the general tax fund and distributed to gay illegal immigrants to go to college to learn how to groom children and put on drag makeup?

They just did this to a few roads that are on my daily commute. Two of which that were recently repaved, that were very smooth and flawless.

There are many more roads in the area that needed attention. I don't understand the thought process, or lack thereof behind this.

Maybe they're getting ready to work on water and/or sewer lines on those two.
