Ya, I chuckled when I heard "you couldn't buy a cannon..." in that speech.

The history part of this has been so enjoyable for me. I hate owning something and knowing very little about it, so I buy books and dig deep on the internet.

Tank Killing by Ian Hogg and The Tank Killers by Harry Yeide are the best two books I found. The first being on the technological advances in anti-tank weapons through the 20th century and the 2nd being the history of tank destroyers in WWII.

That is an awesome project! Thanks for posting it. It shows how much work actually goes into a project of that size. I fully restored a 67 Mustang for my wife and could not believe what a time and money hole it became. Worth it, but I don*t have it in me to do again.
    Well done!

Thank you. I am open to any more of these I can find because I learned a lot doing this that will make another restoration project go smoother. I like to think this is the largest gun I will ever own. I would like to have a 37mm or 57mm gun. They are much more manageable in size and cost to shoot.

I wish I could afford enough projectiles to get the barrel that hot!

I can't even begin to calculate the number of hours spent on this. There were plenty of times I was tired of tripping over the parts spread out in the basement, garage, and driveway.
