I was trying out my new Kal Tech pistol and it just wouldn't load for nothing. I looked down and noticed right away how long the case was. I compared it to a 22 LR and the case was about 1/8 of an inch longer. I assumed all 22LR cases were the same size but apparently not. What did I buy?

I quit as soon as I saw it, I looked at the box and it didn't say anything about magnum on it. You can bet I will check more carefully next purchase.

Did it say 22 WMR? (Winchester Magnum Rimfire)

Where did you buy it from ? Key point is some LGS employees sold you the wrong ammo It happens a lot like 357mag for a 38spl.243 ammo for a 7mm-08 .List can go on but ultimately YOU must see on the barrel and identify caliber and identify ammo ! Good Luck !

May have been 22 stingers, they are longer cases that use 22 short bullet , but are still 22lr length, also there is 22wrf, but uses non heald bullet like 22wmr in a shorter case. https://www.cci-ammunition.com/rimfi...nger/6-50.html https://www.cci-ammunition.com/rimfi...fire/6-69.html

22 stingers would still chamber and fire, 22wrf would not fit. Stingers have more powder and have higher velocity, not recommended in semi auto, kinda a 22lr+p
