Re: CMP and Tisas
Oh I'm sure it was price, and Tisas is a decent gun - but Lower priced Springfields go for $699-$799 and I think they would still sell a lot being a real American 1911? Who knows, maybe I'm being too sensitive but offering a replica of an American piece of history with an import just seems wrong.

Re: CMP and Tisas
We live in a global marketplace and that is just the way it is these days. I try to buy American but if it surpasses my budget or simply isn't available then that is that, I will buy foreign.
I would expect CMP start to pivot into other products as the old surplus is drying up and they will need other projects to fund the organization.

Re: CMP and Tisas
I didn’t know that Springfield made their 1911 in the USA. I always thought that they were made in Croatia like their other pistols. Looks like they started to make their 1911 in the USA starting in 2021.

Re: CMP and Tisas
I believe the CMP was originally the DCM. I might be wrong but I think it was an originally a government program untill around 1995 when it turned to a private entity.

Re: CMP and Tisas
Several years ago, Springfield cut all ties with Imbel. Imbel made pretty much all SA 1911's, or parts. The N and WW serial numbered guns were fully built in Brazil by Imbel. The NM marked frames were forged there and finished here.
When they cut ties, they started sourcing material here. Building them here in the US from US made goods.
They won't say who they source their parts from or who makes the forgings.Accuse your enemy of what you are doing as you are doing it to create confusion -Karl Marx
