Default MD/DC CCW Class in PA ? (PHL )

Looking to get the MD Permit as a non resident ... does anyone know a good class closer to the philly area that offers the Required training.? Its a 16 hour course so i am trying to avoid going to MD and coming back or having to stay overnight.

I'm an MD instructor and am working on putting together a class in late July or August, but don't really have much info to share at this time. I'm still working to finalize the classroom, but it'll probably be in Philly or Bucks.

I don't know what your timeline is, but an MD class is offered pretty regularly by Vinco Training at King's Shooter Supply in KOP. I've heard very good things about their classes.

Question. After taking a 16 hour course for original application, do I need to take an 8 hr training for renewal every 2 years or would I be exempt? It mentions point #5 on MD website list of exemptions but it also says 8 hrs required damn near everywhere else.

You have successfully completed a firearms training course given by a Qualified Handgun Instructor. (The on-line firearm safety course is no longer accepted).

An 8 hour class is required for renewals. The initial permit is for 2 years , renewals are for 3 years.

I believe current Military, Veterans (DD-214), current/former LEOs and Certified Firearms Instructors are exempt from the training requirements.

Thanks for confirming. MD clearly making it a PITA.
