Vice grips. and don't forget the 4 oz ballpeen hammer. Make that a diesel hammer.

I've been doing the vise grip thing but it's tight and easy to slip and nick the the end of the barrel.

A reaction rod is probably one of the most essential tools if you do any work on your ar15.
admit that I chuckled a little bit when I read "and I have managed not to put a scratch on it." All the guns that I use all the time or carry everyday are rattlecan camo'd. also I buy most of my rifle parts as cosmetic blems. Saves money and it doesn't bother me because I will probably just rattlecan the gun anyway. There is something freeing about it. Bought my BCM, made sure it functioned properly and then it got the rattlecan and sponge paint camo.

Re: Easy and safe removal of a stubborn A2 flash hider
Just ordered a Midwest Industries rod. It has the guide that engages the charging handle slot.
Just remembered, a few years back I'd had a wrestling match with a tough muzzle device. Forgot I had set up the wrenches where I could insert a pry bar and lever them apart, loosening the parts. How the heck I forgot that is a WTF, part of getting old I guess. But no matter, that involved a jam nut.Last edited by Bang; April 9th, 2024 at 08:22 PM.
