Re: "Mostly Peaceful"*summer of 2023 begins
An expected bump in violent crime this summer has mayors and police officials around the U.S. rolling out familiar strategies of making officers more visible and engaging with community groups, in some cases leaning on civilians to enforce curfews and keep the peace.
Officials in Cleveland, Ohio, Newark, N.J. and Philadelphia have announced summer plans to make officers more of a visible presence in locations where violent crimes have happened, while also promoting community efforts to prevent violence and provide alternative activities.

Three people managed to walk themselves into Temple University Hospital after being shot during a drive-by shooting just outside the North Philadelphia medical facility early Thursday.
"It's very unusual for someone to fire 40 shots right outside of Temple Hospital, specifically Temple Hospital's emergency room," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.
The shooting along the 3400 block of Germantown Avenue around 12:30 a.m. left a bullet holes in the doors and glass at the back ER entrance of the hospital.

A popular Philadelphia rapper was fatally shot Wednesday in North Philadelphia, police said. Anthony Watson, better known as Blumberg Geez, was shot once in the head on the 1800 block of North Woodstock Street just after 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. A 26-year-old man was also shot in the foot.
Police rushed Watson to Temple University Hospital. He was originally listed in critical condition, but died about four hours later, said Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore. Watson, 21, had been a fugitive for over a year, and was wanted for murder when he was killed.
At the scene, near Berks and Woodstock Streets, police recovered a gun, plus 16 shell casings from two different caliber weapons, Vanore said. The motive remains under investigation, he said.

Interesting - he was wearing blue nitril gloves, a shiest and hoody w/ the hood up when ventilated. Must have been on his way to choir practice.

Just another public service shooting.
Sticks and stones will break my bones but hollow points expand on impact.

Four men armed with the U.S. service rifle. A pickup with two shooters in the bed, the two other providing security. Work your way in from the edge of the crowd to the center. No more crowds gathring after that.

SITUATIONAL AWARENESS is a key principle of threat intelligence, where one must be aware of what is happening around you, in terms of where you are, where you are supposed to be, and whether anyone or anything around you can be considered a risk.Last edited by Story; July 7th, 2023 at 08:09 AM.
