The new Cabelas is Horrible!

Cabelas is a shit show to buy a gun. Last few I've bought from Bud's Guns and had them shipped for free to my local FFL.

Hamburg closed also yet. Was there last week, and the entrance was all closed up. It doesn*t look like it will be open any time soon, if ever again.

Unless I see a great deal in the used section, I*ll never buy another gun there. Even on a light day at the counter, it took way too long. I could have walked over to Cracker Barrel, eaten, and walked back in time.

Luckily I was tooling around on MidwayUSA today and I saw there was a promotion by FN for the FN Tactical for $120 in free mags and gear. Nothing was ever said at Cabelas nor did I see a sign for the promotion when I purchased the gun.

Would have missed out on $120 in free gear.

I buy 90% of my guns on line and have them sent to my FFL.

I buy 95% of my guns FTF in a parking lot or mailed via the US Postal Service!

The website was rather nice and fully informative.

A couple of months ago I found a new gun on-line and called about the gun to actually verify it's in stock (saving myself a 90 minute trip) and was told by their gun department that the inventory on-line is not accurate.

I often check inventory numbers when I'm nosing around online and when I talk to someone, either on the phone or at their counter, they ALL tell me not to count on those online numbers.

- CZ97BD (in the gun library but still a very good deal) - 45
- FNAR rifle - 308/7.62 & scope
- Savage 10FP LEO in 223 & scope
- Savage in 30-06 - cant recall model just now & scope
