Re: Get back home bag
Picked up two of these last night. We SHOULD already have a similar charging bank in each car already, but sometimes they get removed for other uses and not put back where they belong, so having backups is not a bad thing.
I'm sure I could find something smaller if I looked around, but for 7 bucks, what the heck.
It's pretty basic. Just a USB in/out for charging it or using it to charge other devices.
(our other units have an integral wall outlet plug and cig lighter plug for charging the device)
Not really seeing the value in the caribiner. Keeping it on the exterior seems like a bad idea for an electronic gadget.
I guess it could be handy to hook it someplace where you can still use your phone while it's connected/charging though.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

I don't see a warning label on there that it's not meant for climbing.

Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Re: Get back home bag
Saw this "camping set" on clearance for $15 and figured "what the heck".
Yeah, it's junky stuff, but the hatchet and knife feel better in the hand than I expected, and the "saw" that looks like a bread knife I can put to use cutting plants/branches. The other stuff is just a bonus.
I haven't shopped for a decent ferro rod yet, so at least I have "something" now until I do.
Carabiners are always handy and you can never have too much paracord.
The only item I think will be totally useless is the "wire saw". I predict breakage on first use. LOL
I wouldn't have paid more for it, but I think it was worth $15.

Re: Get back home bag
I grabbed this (also on clearance) a few days ago.
I had been watching/reading reviews and will likely end up with a Silky saw at some point, but for $7, this will work for now.
It has a 5" carbon steel wood saw and includes a 5" stainless bone saw blade, with a sheath that has a pocket for the extra blade.
