New to PA
Hi - I have my "Out of State" CCW from Pa, but I just moved into Franklin County. Any idea how I get it converted to a resident CCW?
Thanks in advance!!

Re: New to PA
Welcome.
I don't think you "convert" it so much as you apply for a PA LTCF once you are a resident.
I assume you'll need a PA driver's license.
(LTCF = License to Carry Firearms)
Looks like this is where you go.
https://franklincountypa.gov/index.p...carry-firearms
Form to print is at the top.
Looks pretty standard except for the nonsense about "explaining your reason" for choosing "self defense".
Pretty sure that's not legal for them to even ask you - but some counties like to add their own requirements that don't jive with the STANDARD set by the state.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: New to PA
As far as I know, the non resident license and the resident license are the same license. The only reason to take action would be to have the license reflect your correct address.

Re: New to PA
There is no resident or non-resident PA LTCF - there is only a PA LTCF. Non-residents just have (1) extra criteria for issuance.
If you already have a PA LTCF, you're good to go.
You would however, renew at the sheriff of the county that you reside when the time comes.
Optional - notify the issuing sheriff, if different from Franklin Co sheriff, of address change so that he/she can mail you the renewal notice.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515, SteveWag

Re: New to PA
Welcome to Waynesboro.
As was said, a LTCF is a LTCF, as long as it's valid, you're good to go. If you plan to get any other out-of-state permits, some of them now require you to have a valid in-state license from your home state (PA), so that may be a consideration for you. The good news is if you are bothered that the address doesn't match, Franklin county doesn't have the backlog that many other counties do. I just renewed my LTCF and it took about 10 days to get my approval back in the mail, then about 10 minutes in the courthouse to get my photo done.
If you have any other questions specific to the area. let me know. The Hostler

Re: New to PA
Thanks Ray (and everyone) - I just picked up my LTC. I have walked into a few local gun shops and I was pleasantly surprised at what I saw! What really threw me off is that I waited until I could get the LTC to purchase anything. (Coming from MA, you cannot walk into a gun shop and purchase ammo or weapons of any kind without the LTC). I have not confirmed this, but I was told that since I had my PA Drivers license, that was all I needed to purchase guns and ammo. Years and years have gone by were my subscriptions to Guns and Ammo, Handgunner, and Shooting Times highlighted guns that I had never seen. I come to PA and I finally held a Kimber and A Glock!!!!!! Now to buying!

Response to manxdriver
Who are you to tell someone how to vote? Isn’t this the land of the free? Or is it only the right of asshole fascist to deny the someone’s rights afforded under the constitution.
Go make a big contribution to Trumps defense fund.
I wonder what he would call you? A fool or a sucker.
