Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
We have water stored, and small-scale filtration, but a recent water main break with several days of "boil notice" likely, prompted us to upgrade our purification capacity. This will turn time spent into "gallons", rather than "ounces."

A set of factory rubber grip panels I bought on Ebay for my CZ-75 came today. They fit and feel great!

Ive got a wrap around Hogue grip on my 75, the one with the finger grooves. Think its great. Not a fan of hard plastic grips like come stock on it.

I have the same grips for my Walther P5 (The Dutch police carried it with the grips) and my FM Detective. AFAIK all M90s, shipped with them. I left the grips on the P5 but put wood grips on the Detective because Hi Powers just look better with them. Sometimes it*s better to look good than to be good.

Received all the parts for my MCX a few days ago. I had a lower receiver. Ordered the Sig upper, Radian safety, Sig trigger and brace plus the lower adapter kit. Just need to choose an optic and try it out.

Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
I had been looking at the Berkey's and similar units from Alexapure a few months ago, when I installed a hand pump on my well. Did you look at any other brands? Researching these a bit closer, Berkey says their Black filters should not be used with softened water, as the filters won't remove the mineral salts added by the softener. Filtering softened water voids the filter warranty. I have a water softener system in my house, so this adds a level of complexity to using a filter like the Berkey or Alexapure for filtering our household drinking water. They would be suitable for water pulled directly from the well, or if I added a spigot prior to the softener system.
